ANTTONEN
About
Riikka Anttonen is a Helsinki-based visual artist working in the expanded field of sculpture. Their space-sensitive works combine sculptural elements with marble mosaic and relief surfaces. Anttonen works through the lens of queer experience, with a recurring theme of metamorphosis. Their works often combine references to ancient Roman times into fantasies of worlds that defy easy categorization. They hold an MFA degree from the University of the Arts, Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, and an MA degree from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture.
